EQUIPMENT

  • Electric mixer or hand beater
  • 4-6 x 167 ml (5.9 ounces) glass or plastic tumblers

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams (3.52 ounces) of instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 7-9 chocolate cookies or more if needed
  • Assorted Halloween gummy candy snakes, and candy eyes

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Make the pudding mix as outlined on your pudding mix packet.
Note: Servings from pudding mixes vary, and you may get 4 or 6 servings from your pudding mix.
Our pudding mix used 700ml (23.66 ounces, almost 3 cups of milk) and made 6 servings.
  • Divide the mixture evenly between the tumblers leaving about 2.5 cm (1 inch) of space at the top.
  • Place the chocolate cookies into a small zip lock bag and crush them into small coarse crumbs.
  • Top each pudding cup with 2-3 teaspoons of the cookie crumbs and decorate with the gummy candy, snakes, and eyes.
  • Store in the fridge until ready to serve.

VARIATIONS
Add food gel
You can also make this recipe with chocolate instant pudding or color vanilla pudding with a few drops of gel food coloring and make green, purple, or orange-colored instant pudding cups.
Make graveyard pudding cups
To make graveyard or tombstone pudding cups, use chocolate pudding and top with chocolate cookie crumbs.
Decorate the cups with a tombstone made from a long plain cookie like a Milano cookie, sour gummy worms, candy bones, or small candied pumpkins.
You could "engrave" the tombstone with "RIP" using an edible black marker or chocolate piping.
Frankenstein pudding cups
Before making the pudding, use a permanent marker to draw faces onto the outside of clear plastic cups.
Fill the cups with green-colored pudding. To make a green pudding, add a few drops of green food coloring to instant vanilla pudding.
Finish the Frankenstein pudding cups with chocolate cookie crumbs for the hair.

MEAL PREPPING
If you are planning on making a batch of these for a party, you can do some preparation in advance;
  • The night before - Make the pudding and pour it into the serving dishes, seal and store it in the fridge until needed.
  • The next day - About an hour before serving them, add the crushed cookie crumbs and decorate them with candy. Return to the fridge until ready to serve.
